WAPIRITS TUMUGI
This spirit is made by infusing honkaku barley shochu—crafted through Japan’s traditional koji-based brewing techniques—with the peels of uniquely Japanese fruits such as kabosu, lemon, mikan, and yuzu, along with mint. It is a fragrant and complex spirit born from the richness of Japan’s natural environment and the dedication of artisans who have long mastered the art of honkaku shochu.
Tasting Note
Aromas of exotic tropical fruits such as dragon fruit, jackfruit, and papaya, layered with warm grain and buttery notes. On the palate, honeydew melon and ocean minerals unfold, leading to a finish with hints of red cherry candy and eucalyptus. (From the judges’ comments, USC 2023. Source here.)
